Balance Assessments
My clinic provides comprehensive assessments to diagnose and treat various balance disorders. I will work with you to form a personalised management strategy.
Ear Microsuction
Experience safe and effective ear wax and discharge removal with my microsuction services, even in the presence of eardrum perforations. I also can provide digital photographs of your ear drums once the wax is cleared.

I have been a qualified Doctor since 2010 and have worked solely within ENT since 2013.
I am employed as a full-time ENT Consultant in Ayrshire & Arran NHS Trust. In addition to my general ENT work, I am also a specialist at the Scottish Cochlear Implant Centre.
My other interests include balance and general ear disorders. My private practice will be outside of my NHS role.

Conditions and Costs
ENT Appointment: £200 for 30 Minutes
Symptoms covered in this appointment:
Nasal blockage or discharge, Ear pain, Hearing difficulties, Ear discharge,
Throat discomfort, Voice Problems, Nose Bleeds.
Microsuction - no additional charge.
For Nasal Cautery and Flexible Nasendoscopy - additional charges apply.

Cautery is charged at £150 and Nasendoscopy is charged at £300.
These procedures require specialised single use equipment which are disposed of afterwards.
I only charge the additional fee where necessary and I strive to keep all costs transparent and agreed before conducting a procedure.

Please also note that if your primary problem is hearing loss it is important that you obtain an audiogram from an audiologist prior to my ENT review.
I can then review your audiogram at your subsequent appointment with myself which will make the appointment more efficient, productive and cost effective for you.

Vertigo/Balance Appointment: £250 for 45 Minutes
Symptoms covered in this Appointment:
This is a specialist appointment designed to discuss and examine balance disorders. Please do not book a standard ENT appointment if your primary condition is related to dizziness or your balance.
Please do not drive to this appointment as sometimes I will need to perform diagnostic head movement tests that might cause temporary dizziness .
It is important that you attend with someone who can assist you and drive you home after the appointment if needs be.
If Microsuction is required in this appointment, no additional charge will be applied.

Microsuction Appointment: £150 for 20 Minutes
This appointment is for the management and removal of ear wax and discharges only and will not include an in-depth assessment of ear symptoms.
Digital 'photographs' of tympanic membranes can be made available for an additional cost of £10 and sent to your email address.
Please note that this appointment offers a £30 non-refundable assessment charge. Should Microsuction be required, a further £120 will be applied.
If possible, I would recommend using a wax softening drop such as Otex or Olive oil drop prior to attending this appointment.​

Return Appointment: £150 for 20 Minutes
This appointment is for a review of a patient who has already been seen by myself for a review of symptoms or response to treatment.
Please do not book this appointment type if this is your first appointment.
Additional Information​​
Surgery
If your consultation results in a recommendation for surgery that requires an operating theatre you will be referred on as requested, to either NHS via a letter to your GP or another private healthcare provider (in that case you will likely require to be reassessed in that institution but you will be provided with a copy of my consultation).

Insurance
​I do not undertake direct work for insurance companies. If you hope to recover your costs from a healthcare insurer you should contact them in advance to ensure that funding will be covered. Initial payment is your responsibility. I provide receipts and my letter will be a record or the consultation.
I am not VAT registered.

Refund policy
A deposit will be requested at the time of booking online and payment can be made using a debit/credit card. This amount is refundable minus the transaction fee (£5) if you cancel at least 48 hours prior to the time of your booked appointment. The request for cancellation / appointment change should be made by email to:

Cancellations
Should I need to cancel your appointment and it is not possible, or you choose not to make another appointment, the full deposit amount will be refunded onto the card with which payment was made.
If you cancel or change the appointment less than 48 hours prior to the appointment time the deposit will be non-refundable.

Please note that the deposit will be lost for a missed appointment, irrespective of the reason.
